Hi all,
We're doing a FULL DAY SE Denver and W Aurora loop. CLICK HERE (http://bit.ly/wDlXSR) for route!
This will be an urban walk starting from Jacobs Park in SW Denver. We'll walk Southeast towards Cherry Creek Reservoir, North towards Utah Park and back to our starting point going through neighborhoods using plenty of greenways and trails!
If you have never done a walk like this or if you have concerns about whether you can do it, please don't hesitate to contact me directly - (see email below)
-
Mileage: 13.8 Miles
-
Difficulty: Mild (NOTE: All of these walks are advanced based on their length. If you have concerns about your ability, please feel free to contact me at email address below!)
-
Terrain: (Urban) Mostly paved sidewalks w/occasional gravel trail, alley and roadside. (optional grass and dirt as well)
-
Schedule: We will meet at 8:00am where Safeway shopping center parking lot meets Quebec Street and Jacobs Park (SE Corner) and talk through Walk2Connect goals, answer any questions and to stretch! We should be done walking no later than 4pm.
-
Parking: Should be plenty of Parking in shopping center lot.
-
Weather: Will keep you posted as we get closer!
-
Breakfast & Lunch: Please plan to have breakfast before you arrive or bring your own packed breakfast with you. Mid-day Lunch Break: those who want a local dining experience we'll be stopping at/near El Lucerito (Mexican) and Silla Restaurant (Korean) near Peoria & E Cornell OR come with packed lunch as well.
-
Donation I'm always taking donations via pay pal (on my main website www.walk2connect.com ) or small donations ($3-5) at the time of the walk to cover printing/planning expenses. ; ) - this is not required
-
Please plan to have someone available to pick you up if you don't think you can go the whole way; however, you will be surprised at what your body can do! (or you can take public transit back to your car - let me know if you need help with this)
Plan to Bring:
-
Comfortable socks & shoes (pref. NON cotton socks!)
-
Light backpack w/water and snack foods (almonds, bars, fruit)
-
Gloves, scarf, beanie (depending on weather)
-
Sunglasses & Sunscreen (and hat if you wear them)
-
Layers of clothing depending on anticipated temperature and light rain gear just in case. I would avoid big/bulky winter coats as you will warm up once we walk and its way easier to shed/store light clothing.
-
Camera
These walks are very informal and give us all unique opportunities to connect with one another, ourselves and our surroundings. Feel free to visit my website at: www.walk2connect.com (http://www.walk2connect.com/) to read testimonies from a few people who are doing this already!
Contact me at: walk2connect@gmail.com if you have any questions!
