Greenbelt Corridor Park
This walk will take around 2 hours, so make sure to hydrate before the walk and bring water and maybe a snack with you.
IMPORTANT: There is a $7.00 entry fee (honor system) to the greenbelt unless you have a Texas State Park annual pass. Please make sure you pay and put the receipt in your windshield. There is a very hefty fine if they ticket your vehicle for non-payment and they seem to really enforce it on Sundays.
There is no drinking water along the trail. There are toilets at the entrance to the park.
I will be holding a sign that says Denton Walking & Friends. We will meet at the trail head near the big map of the park at 12:45 pm and we will start walking at 1:00 pm.
It is a very easy wide flat gravel path through the woods. We will walk 3 miles and then turn and go back. If you don't know if you can walk 6 miles it's okay. You can head back at any point. It is safe with other people there walking, running, bike riding, walking dogs, etc
Pat's Tips: 2 pairs of socks (one thin liner and another pair) will cut down on friction and reduces your chances of getting blisters on a long hike. Raisins are a great and easy to carry energy snack. As the weather gets warmer you may need extra water. Stretch after the hike.
If you have any questions, please post them in the comments and I will do my best to answer them.
The Greenbelt is an awesome place to hike. Hope to see you all soon!
