Announcing a new Meetup for Walking thru the Valley of Heart's Delight & Hiking Around!

What: once more with FEELING: FELTON FREE FILM FESTIVAL (optional arrival times)

When: August 21,[masked]:30 PM

Satellite Telework Center
6265 Highway 9
Felton, CA

A similar but revised version of the 8/7 event: we'll stroll different streets, see a different movie.

Felton and Boulder Creek were a favorite spot for several actors of the silent screen era. Local historian Randall Brown is hosting a summer series of silent films shot in and around Felton and Boulder Creek.
?Not too many people realize that the San Lorenzo Valley was a hotbed of film production at the turn of the century,? Brown said. ?A number of well-known silent film actors liked to get away from Hollywood and enjoyed shooting films in the Santa Cruz mountains.?

Part one: We'll meet in front of Satellite Telework Centers and head off for about an hour and fifteen minutes through residential streets of Felton, replete with trees and beautiful mountain vistas. Good invigorating walk with just a bit of hill for added exercise benefits. If you miss the departure time, call and perhaps you can catch up with us on a nearby street. There are several nearby markets and taquerias nearby where you could get a compact supper to eat during the film.

Part two: About 6:45 we'll be back at Satellite for the film. This week's movie is "Rubber Tires." Click here for a synopsis and some photos. It sounds really humorous and has received god reviews -- and one of the actors "Harrison Ford," so apparently there was another one before our contemporary star.

Part three: After the movie, we'll continue a few miles up Highway 9 to the famous and allegedly-haunted Brookdale Inn and Spa (formerly Brookdale Lodge -- click here) where several famous film stars cavorted. We'll get a quick drink and see if we can get in to the Mermaid Bar where the paintings of said stars adorn the wall.

Carpool departs Sunnyvale courthouse (El Camino at Mathilda) at 4:30 SHARP -- unless of course at the last minute I'm sent down to San Jose to work, so it'd be a good idea to give me your phone number if you plan on meeting there.
