We welcome anyone interested in outdoor fitness. We will attempt to do meet-ups from anywhere in the Chicago land area, all the way out to the furthermost points (past the burbs when necessary), and where ever we decide to go to accomplish our goals of brisk outdoor exercising and having fun for all. Members of the Wandering Nomad Group bike, hike, walk, cross country ski and other activities for health, fitness and enjoyment of the great outdoors. Additionally at times, we meet at clubs to check out various musical artists. We enjoy pleasant socializing along with good food, wine, drink and companionship. So if you are into year round outdoor workouts in the beauty of nature, you should join us. This group is for men and women who are physically active or aspiring to become more active, and want to have fun in life! We are also a dog friendly group and have many hikes where friendly canine companions are encouraged to attend.

This hike will be about 8.5 miles. We'll start at the Little Red School House and head east to Belly Deep Slough, Redwing Slough and then back through Hidden Pond Woods. We'll reverse up the Old Country Lane and head south and back.
It is a varied stretch of terrain, crushed limestone and clay dirt. The trail has has beautiful rolling hills, woods and savannas. Read more
