This group is for active adults of all ages and people who have the strong desire to be more active. While it's true that many older folks are exercising, the majority of Baby Boomers live sedentary lives. Obesity rates are still climbing. It’s this subculture of active men and women who are challenging the whole notion of what it means to grow older and many of us are ready to join them. Change is a difficult thing that requires a deep strong desire. What drives a plumber to run marathons and pump iron after a heart transplant? What is the motivation of runners who jog every day for decades? A swimmer met is still working full time at age 80. Despite nearly constant pain, she continues to break world records in the pool. Some athletes are blessed with tremendous talent. But others didn’t start until middle age. If there is a common thread in their lives, it’s a belief that an athletic act, even when executed with dense bones and poor muscle tone, can give meaning to life in ways that love and religion can not. Let's get busy before it's too late!
