Life is a picnic

Oops, I almost forgot! The wanderers must’ve been wondering…

The annual One Day Hike Celebration Hike and Picnic at Carderock, MD, is coming up fast -- this Sunday, June 6, at 9:00 am (hike) and noon (picnic). The hike and picnic are free and open to all, and you may join us for either, both, or neither.

HIKE: Meet at 9:00 am for an out-and-back hike of up to 10 miles along the C&O Canal towpath toward Great Falls. You set your own pace, and determine the distance by your turnaround point. The leaders are Pat Hopson and Frank Wodarczyk. Directions to the meeting place are below.

PICNIC: At noon, gather at the picnic pavilion near the hike’s starting point. We’ll provide hotdogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, trimmings, bread, chips, and nonalcoholic beverages, along with paper and plastic ware; you may bring appetizers, side dishes, or desserts.

The picnic will feature live, traditional Scottish/Irish music by the trio A Sheep at the Wheel. (www.cdbaby.com/cd/asheepwheel)

Cheers,
Mike
