We've changed the Meet Up name but not our mission!

Cohousing Collaborative, LLC, is delighted to announce we are expanding this Meet Up site to include the many and varied activities surrounding building sustainable communities -- most particularly cohousing communities.

This site will be focused on creating Meet UPs for folks to meet and discuss topics of social sustainability in our changing world. How can we help each other through these tough economic times? How can we encourage each other to live more simply? To reduce our individual carbon footprint as well as the carbon footprint of our larger communities? What would it mean to build a sustainable community in the metro DC area? Farther beyond? What resources do we need? How will we take care of our children and our elders in a time of economic stress?

We will also present topics on the "hardware" of sustainability such as Low Impact Development, green architecture and design, rain gardens, green roofs, and much more!

Some of these Meet UPs will be organized by Cohousing Collaborative. AND we are inviting YOU to organize a topic you are interested in. If you want to organize a discussion through this Meet Up one of our Meet Up organizers will assist you. We want this site to be a two-way (actually -- a multi-way) conversation for advancing community in our area. We invite you to post notices of meetings, events, information, opportunities to live in built or building communities, etc. relating to cohousing and sustainability to this Meet Up group.

We want this site to be a nexus for information and education about community and sustainability. NOTE: many communities post to this Meet Up site. Cohousing Collaborative is not associated with these organizations or individuals except through our mutual interest in cohousing. CC is not responsible for their postings. We discourage outright marketing for personal gain to the Meet Up. Rentals, sales, notices of meetings, forming groups, etc. all OK!

In the next few weeks, we will be inviting more people to join the Meet Up. We look forward to more activity on the site and in person! We respectfully request that members of the Meet Up post only information pertaining to sustainability, community living, cohousing and related topics. IMPORTANT NOTE: You can control your email. You may elect to receive email from this Meet Up in three ways: 1) from the organizer only, 2) in a daily digest or 3) as emails are posted.
