The wonderful world of web APIs – adding new technologies and thousands of human beings to web applications.

This presentation will cover new capabilities that can be added to any web application, including phone calls, texting, IM, video uploading, file sharing, and crowdsourcing. Things that used to require highly specialized skills and complicated infrastructure can now be rented on the cheap. We will discuss these new platforms and how to how to tap into them from the server- or client-side.

Jason Stehle is a software developer, business analyst, and UX designer with over 16 years of experience. He wrote his first AJAX app in 2000 and has specialized in rich web applications ever since. For some reason, he has a patent in print routing. He currently works as a development team lead for PixelMEDIA.
