This is a Special Notice. The Chair has authorized me to offer free tickets for two of our members, to the XML Summer Conference which will be held at the end of the month. This is two full days chock full of XML related discussion in all its markupy goodness. The conference is on July 27-28, and is sponsored by several well-known companies including Adobe and Lulu.com, with leading speakers.

If you want to be considered for a drawing for the two tickets, you have to be a Web Design member, and RSVP "YES" to this notice by 7:00am on July 14th.

Attendance at the evening July 14th meetup is not necessary but highly desirable. It would be nice to confirm in person. Otherwise make sure I have a way to contact you -- I usually can only do so through the Meetup.com member contact button on your profile. The giveaway is at my benevolent discretion, but if it becomes a pain to reach you I reserve the right to gift them to someone else.

BTW, I'm speaking at the event. My RSVP doesn't mean I'm taking one of the two slots!

The Summer XML Conference is a low-fluff event which addresses a range of viewpoints from technical to management. Retail cost of registration is $495, already a great value for a conference of this type, but the presenters are also genuine industry leaders -- among them are W3C editors and committee chairs working on standards that affect your work directly -- so don't feel shy.
