Inane CSS Box Models and Layout Confusion: why isn't there a Better Way?
Open floor discussion with Mitch. Some ideas:
- Common points of confusion about The CSS box model
- Flex Layout - rethinking layout and CSS inexpressiveness
- Retina-itis - impact of very high resolutions and varied formats
- Sit, talk, hack - I'll see what implementations of the flex model I can find, and fetch a projector.
Oh, and the W3C just published the media fragment uri recommendation! Anyone making use of this in a production site?
New sponsors are coming on too. I hope to have them listed by the time the meeting rolls around!
Note About Meeting Times
Since many of us get to the meeting early, we will make a half-hour available as a meet-eat-and-greet time prior to any presentations or shop talk. We will continue to start formally at 7:30pm, but the time change is to reflect this chatting time.
Since we all usually chat as people arrive, we will not continue to do a round-robin greeting at 7:30pm. We will instead end the greeting period with announcements, and then give the floor to the presenter or moderator.
Please consider the benefits of moderating, presenting lecture style, or giving a tutorial:
- Enhanced Credibility
- Visibility For Your Business
- Increased Good Will
(Tentative speakers, THANK YOU for your participation.)
Contact Mitch or Pepper to get on a meeting schedule!
