Hey, WebMagicMarketers:
I've heard Skippy talk about photography, and it's good stuff. Attend this meetup group and improve your photos, for sure! Below is Skippy's description of this week's presentation:
How to take better photographs in three easy steps.
It's a visual world out there. Are you ready for it? Sometimes the casual snapshot gets the job done but what if you knew enough about photography to do better than that? How would you like to have the most kick-butt photos on your iPhone out of everyone at the table? How would you like to be able to sound all snobby as you evaluate the art next time you go out on the First Friday Art Walk? How would you like a wonderfully cooked seven course meal?
Skippy can't help you with the last one (unless we are talking about eating a seven course meal) but as for the others questions – he's got some opinions about those.
Skippy is the Mastermind (in his own mind) behind On The Fly Photography and is gonna take you through three steps to taking better photographs.
Step 1. Camera. Got a camera? That's the first step.
Step 2. Lighting. Photography doesn't work well without some light. But do you want just any light? Of course not.
Step 3. Composition. Did you remember to put the subject right in the middle of the photo? Of course you did. And that's wrong. Soon you'll know why.
Bring your sense of humor and join Skippy for a fun filled hour (thought it will feel like 3 hours) of learning some photography basics that will make even your cellphone pictures look better. Plus you never know when the basics of lighting and composition might come into play in other aspects of your life. Composition certainly has nothing to do with designing a web site.
