MEETING POINT: CUTTY SARK FOR MARITIME GREENWICH DLR STATION AT 1PM
The Trafalgar Tavern was built in 1837. Towards the end of the 19th century the building became in turn an institute for merchant seamen, a working men's club, and flats. In 1965 it was reopened as a pub after having been restored to its Victorian grandeur.
In 1837 became famous for its whitebait (young herring) suppers, with distinguished diners such as Charles Dickens arriving by the river.
Let us have lunch at their pub area (Bar Menu) and afterwards enjoy a walk towards the Royal Observatory located in a small hill from where a great view of the City can also be enjoyed (hopefully the weather will not cause any problem).
