Pinnacles National Park: 2-Night Camping Trip

I reserved a nicely shaded campsite inside the stunning Pinnacles National Park. This will be an easy camping trip good for beginners.

5pm: Arrive; set up camp
8:15pm: Walk to the Pinnacles Campground Amphitheater
8:30pm: Evening Ranger Program (topic TBD)

Saturday Schedule
9am: Hike High Peaks (strenuous, but totally worth it)
1pm: Hike Bear Gulch cave/reservoir area (easy)
8:15pm: Walk to the Pinnacles Campground Amphitheater
8:30pm: Evening Ranger Program (topic TBD)

Sunday Schedule
11am: Pack up; depart Pinnacles
1pm: Call/do something nice for your mom (it's Mothers Day!)

Your $20/person payment covers the campsite and reservation costs. We will discuss carpool and camping-specific details once the event fills.

Incredible views from the High Peaks trail, shaded and private campsite, and wonderful company. Many thanks to you guys for sharing this weekend getaway with me. The only downside is that life will never be the same now that I know camel spiders exist -- that guy was feisty!

A beautiful time of year to visit this national park. The hiking was great, the scenery awesome...but the best moment I remember? The marshmallows as bit as your fist we were roasting! S'mores are man's best invention, yeah!!!

We will be at site #49. If you can't see the campsite number, look for a silver car with a dive flag on its bumper. Two of us are heading down now. Remember, there's no cell signal in the park, so I'll see the rest of you when you arrive this evening!

Maybe we can just visit on Saturday and not do the camping portion?

Hey Renee, where do you want to meet on Saturday and what time? I hear there is no reception inside.

Wondering what you need to bring? Check out this camping list from REI: http://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/family-camping-checklist.html. It's insanely long (I think only about 1/3 of the items are really needed), so make a reality check. Note: There is a swimming pool, so consider bringing a swimsuit.

Hey! What does " I want a spot" mean?-- it's on the waiting list?? Is there a limitation of the number of people? Thanks!!

    • Renee

Great question. Yes, "want a spot" is the waiting list. The campsite is full, but let me know if you'd just like to join us for Saturday's hikes and I will manually add you to the event.
