A Taste of Greece in LA
You don't have to go far to experience the culture and food of Greece. St. Sophia's Cathederal is hosting their annual LA Greek Fest this weekend and we'll meet up on Saturday.
Join us for traditional Greek Food such as the Greek Dinner Booth's sumptuous slices of Lamb or Roast Chicken served with Rice, Greek Salad, Feta Cheese, Greek Olives and Bread. Or, go for of tasty traditional Greek fare like Pastitsio, Moussaka, Dolmathes, Mini-Kebobs, Greek Salad Tiropitas, Spanikopita and Briami – a delicious Greek vegetable stew in the Greek food court. Don't forget to leave room for deserts like baklava, diples, loukomathes and many more.
For those of you who are more adventurous, take a stab at traditional Greek dancing. If you're not so adventurous, no worries, you can still participate by watching the church's various dance groups perform time-honored island dances in authentic costumes.
We'll meet at 5 pm next to the first booth just left of the festival entrance. Entrance fee is $5, payable upon entering. Parking is available, but it may be a bit of a walk. Let the group know if you are interested in carpooling.
Don't forget to bring cash for your food and drinks.
Hope to see you there!
