Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a method of directly accessing and releasing issues around, among other things, food and weight. Like acupuncture but without the needles, through EFT we stimulate the energy streams (meridians) of the body that store our earlier experiences and negative beliefs blocking us from moving on and turning our life around. EFT often works where nothing else will.
For example:
If you - like me - were brought up never to waste food and to always clear your plate, you might find it difficult to eat less. In this example, something might have been useful and healthy as a child ("eat it all up - it will make you big and strong") no longer serves us as adults. By using EFT to tune into the specific events that resulted in anxiety around meals, we can release the anxiety, so enabling us to let go of guilt about "wasting food" and changing our relationship with eating.
Do you procrastinate rather than exercise? EFT can help to overcome the thought patterns that prevent us from doing the exercise we need to in order to speed weight loss.
Every issue we have around losing weight can be addressed with EFT.
And it doesn't require much in the way of "will power" or "self discipline". As we release all the old patterns of thought and behaviour, eating healthily, excercising and feeling good develop naturally.
