Happy New Year! Hope you're all still having an excellent summer.

Most of us are back at work now and truly in the thick of it. Wellington's Drupal industry continues to grow, and with the launch of D8, it is going to be a potentially disruptive, game-changing year.

WHEN: 2nd February, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

WHERE: Catalyst IT Level 3

AGENDA:

Newbie spotlight - An optional opportunity for new people to the group to say a quick intro and tell us a bit about what you're doing with Drupal. Are you looking for work? Are any of the organisations at the meetups hiring? Are you short on Drupal buddies or looking for a hand with a project?

Drupal Job Opportunities - A new addition to our regular format, the first 5mins of every meetup is going to cover Drupal job opportunities. This is so if people want to attend just the first part of the meetup in pursuit of work / recruiting staff, they can do so shamelessly. Are you looking for a Drupal job? Do you need Drupal staff? This segment over the first 10mins of the event is for you.

Module highlight - This is a new repeating part of our agenda that we will have during every meetup. It is where those of us who have modules we'd like to talk about take the stage tell us a bit about the module that they are currently in love with and what they've used it for.

Drupal Contribution & Sprints - Each week, we will discuss contributions currently being made to the Drupal community, who is doing it, and what we can all do to help. When is the next Drupal Sprint? Where is it being ran? How can you get involved? These questions will also be answered each month.

Drupal Q & A - The lifeblood of the meetups - come along and get your questions about Drupal answered. Useful for newbies and veterans alike to get peer feedback, solutions, insights and leads.

PIZZA - Vege, gluten free available (if you have special dietary requirements, PLEASE let us know in advance by emailing directly to alex@xequals.co.nz) Drupal Memes and Internal Drupal Training - What tools and methods do the Drupal communities in Wellington use for building up their internal Drupal talent? How necessary is committing to an internal training program, or is it easier to just hire skills-ready people in Wellington? An opportunity to share the way we are all approaching this.

Plans for 2016 - A quick 5 - 10minute recap of our current community projects still underway and a indication of what the wider year will look like in this regard

Presentations Wanted - Let's chat briefly about what kinds of Drupal content we'd like to see this year in the effort to stimulate interest from audiences and presenters alike.

Website Showcase Hotseat - A chance for anyone to take the stage and show off a project that they've been working on.

REFRESHMENTS: Beer and pizza are provided by the very lovely Sparks Interactive. Thanks Sparks! You guys are awesome! If only everyone else were as good at providing beer and pizza as you... you have a special place in our heart.

And thanks Catalyst! Without you guys, there is no meeting room - a sad thought indeed. So cheers to Catalyst and Sparks for supporting the Wellington Drupal community, we all really appreciate it! :)

CONTRIBUTE: Want to share something specific with the group? These events are always open for people to take the stage, run a presentation or anything that they think might be interest to the wider group. Get in touch! Organisation of these events is provided by Xequals. Please contact us if you'd like to learn more, sponsor our community, or contribute to an event - alex@xequals.co.nz
