Wellington December Drupal Meetup

The next Drupal meetup is on in less than 2 weeks time!

For Tue 6 December we have the following fine lineup:

  • Dan (http://drupal.org/user/33240 / http://coders.co.nz) will be talking about his work on an NZ Govt Standard ready Drupal and the great developments in this arena over the past few months. Plus we hope to get some discussion going around this topic, as I assume a lot of Wellington's Drupalistas have to comply with the Govt Standards on a regular basis.
  • Jeremy (who's been doing Drupal work in Germany from NZ for a while now) will give us an overview of a multilingual D7 site he's been working on recently.

Note: We will be in a different location at the Sparks Interactive office on 139 Featherston St this time! Come there from 5.45pm onwards, there will be signs at the entrance with a number to call in case the door is locked!

There'll be pizza and beer as per usual, also kindly sponsored by Sparks Interactive.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!!

If anyone else went to the NDF2011 conference, Michael from the NYPL runs the web team there with 2 Drupal devs + 3-5 others. The scale of the New York Public Libraries site is impressive. There was another big talk that used Drupal as well, but can't remember which of the 20 presentations it was related to... one of the .Oz government sites methinks.

Damn, I'm sorry I missed this one. I was also looking for help on Drupal if anyone is a whizz at fixing Drupal 7 memory issues specifically with mySQL. I'd do it myself but I'm just a designer/site builder.

For reference: the prototype Features server I illustrated is at http://features.standards.net.nz/ (code is there, some assembly needed) , underneath a place where I occasionally rant about Standards for Govt Websites http://standards.net.nz/ (and am looking for some like-minded folk to join in and present a united front of sorts)

I'd be happy for any discussion of the type I brought up to progress over at http://groups.drupal.org/new-zealand

I enjoyed the meeting especially Dan?s presentation on NZ Government standards using Features and establishing a Drupal community resource pool for it. Thanks for the great pizza and beer. My basic notes on multilingual Drupal 7 installations can be found at crowna.co.nz/files/download/Drupal7-Multilingual.pdf.

Great turnout, great discussions and clear vision for moving forward - thanks Dave. The pizza was the bestest, honestly... more Pizza Pomodoro please, beats hells hands down. Steiny Pure = heaven, winning combination. Loved the translation talk too.

Great topics. Parties interested in creating reusable Drupal components for should form a consortium and elect a leader.
