The Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery is rich with history and very cool for photography. The shapes and textures do well with HDR. The cemetery also lends it's self to eerie long shutter ghost-like images, double exposure and light painting after dark.
Parking can be limited here. Please be respectful of businesses and their parking spaces. Please try to carpool if at all possible. Please meet at the corner of Franklin and Carr- aka the side entrance.
No promises, but I might try to pull a model in on this one. A signature on a model release will cost $20 cash, the day of. If I actually get a model for this event, the fee is only applicable if using the model. I will post info about the model as the date approaches. Again, no promises. This is only if I have time, and if can get an approved willing model.
tripod and shutter release
camera, batteries, memory card
medium length lens
jacket, snack and water
flashlight or headlamp- if staying into the dark
light painting devices- if light painting (laser pointers, glow sticks, LEDs, battery operated items, flashes and gels, and kids toys are all great) - absolutely NO FIRE! Includes steel wool, poi, candles, fireworks or anything else that uses actual fire or heat to make light. Use of any fire toys at this event will result in immediate banning from the group, and I will call the local police for attempted arson- no joke. Leave it at home. It's too dry out there.
printed model release (or phone app) if I can get the model
