Hike Mt Baldy via San Antonio Ski Hut trail

Details
Let's hike Mt Baldy!
The Ski Hut Trail (officially "Baldy Bowl Trail") is a 8.4 miles round trip. It's the most direct route. It's steep and varied. The narrow path travels through some amazing high country. And with 3,900 feet of elevation gain, this climb is considered very strenuous. Plan for a whole day hike!

Getting to the Trailhead
From the new 210 Freeway extension, driving east: Exit Baseline Road in Claremont. Turn left on Baseline. In one block turn right unto Padua Avenue. In 1.7 miles turn right onto Mt. Baldy Road (stop sign). After 7.2 miles you pass the Angles National Forest Mt. Baldy Visitor Center in Mt. Baldy Village. You can get a Forest Adventure Pass here. Continue a few miles up to Maker Flats.
Park at upper end of Manker Flats Campground in one of the dirt areas near the gated Falls Road on the left (if you reach the ski lift parking lot, you've gone too far, unless you plan to ride the ski lift). We will meet near this gate at 8am. Your hike will proceed up this road. A National Forest Adventure Pass is required for parking.
If you're running late, call or text me (Aliz, 714-548-1133). Make sure you do this ahead of time, because we will not have reception in the mountains!!
If you'd like to carpool, leave a message in the comments.
