here is another sierra training hike to get you ready for the summer. this hike will consist of another productive cluster in the san gabriel mountains and includes all the significant peaks within and around the monrovia ridge. there will be some light scrambling involved along with trail hiking and we will be coming in and out of service roads.

here are the stats in the order that we will be accomplishing them:

mt bliss (3,720ft)
monrovia peak (5,409ft)
middle peak (5,371ft)
rankin peak (5,294ft)
clamshell peak (4,390ft)
pine peak (4,530ft)

i'm still computing the stats but it will be around this much:

20-25 miles RT.
5,500 ft elevation gain.

what to bring SPECS:

trekking poles!

5 liters of water
food
sunglasses
hat
sunscreen
flashlight
jacket
beanie
gloves

NO ADVENTURE PASS IS REQUIRED.

TH DIRECTIONS:
-from 210 fwy exit at Irwindale Avenue in Irwindale.
-Turn right (north) and go 0.2 mile.
-Turn left (west) on Foothill Blvd. and go 0.7 mile to Encanto Parkway. -Turn right (north).
-Drive north on Encanto Parkway 1.3 miles.
-Turn left onto a dirt road, the entrance to Encanto Equestrian Center (marked with a yellow sign).
-Drive about 0.5 mile and park on the left side of the road across from the horse stables.

The hike starts at the north end of the equestrian center.

WHAT TO BRING:

  1. You know the Distance, Elevation gain, Weather, and your Own physical abilities. Please bring enough Water/Electrolyte, and Food accordingly. Extra Water and Food as an emergency backup.

  2. Layers clothing, Hiking Poles, Headlamp, Gloves, Hat, Sun glasses, Sun screen, and any medicine you take regularly.

  4. Trail or TOPO map, GPS, or any other route information you might have.

  5. Most important, Please bring a very friendly and pleasant attitude.
