This is a group for those working through the emotional aspects of separation and divorce-- to heal, find closure, and enable ourselves to move forward freely after this huge life change.
Divorce is one of the most stressful events that can happen to a human being. In our culture we rush to put a lid on emotions and the natural process that needs to happen to move forward successfully and freely. But you can't skip emotional steps! Just burying the feelings will not help us to learn from our experience, live authentically, or move forward with real freedom.
In this group, we can support each other in our honest expression of emotion--grief, anger, denial, peace--as we work through the emotional fallout of separation.
I am not a counselor, but I am someone who has done a lot of personal growth work and can hold the space to meet and do this work. I like a body-oriented approach too-- the body never lies or tells you stories of how things "should" be, like the mind does! I welcome the involvement of others who do have more experience running process groups.
Inspired by Spiritual Divorce, we can do exercises from the book together, meet and go-round, or do body-oriented meditation/focusing designed to move through the emotions that exist.
