Hello I was an avid outdoor person several years ago and than things changed. My Mom recently passed and I am wanting to get back in shape and eventually learn and go backpacking
I have been here for 30 yrs from Lakewood Colorado where I grew up. This is the best place one could live, snow, rain, sun and sometimes way too much wind. However ya have to love it, once you get used to it???
Camped since I was a toddler, grew up fishing and being outdoors most of my life. Any one remember green canvas tents Coleman white gas stoves and cots??? Hoorah. Time changes us all, and getting older is getting better.
My first back pack trip, my second kayak trip where my pal was teaching me and had me flip over and over until I understood how to get back on the kayak
I love the Ouray, Silverton, Telluride area, there is nothing like it. Nothing like being out and star gazing, sleeping by the sound of a near by stream and meeting others. Best bk pk trip the Gunny Gorge where a few of us ha the best meal, wine and breakfast ever.
I don't think I am ready to lead anyone, can barely lead my dog, or should I say deal with him when he is leading me. Hope someday to be able to do such. Thank you all WSA, you are the best!!1
The BEST ever
Thank you, Anne. I am loving the Western Slope!

I have a friend who is bringing a tandem Ik and does not have a lot of experience, and great enthusiasm. Perhaps you can consider being on her boat? Call me at [masked] so we can discuss it.
I know, giving up lobsters for trout doesn't sound right, does it? I long for the lobster sandwiches I enjoyed on old Cape Cod! Cape Caaahhhd.
