In the mood for Thai? Basil Asian Bistro

This will be a weeknight meetup close to my office. I shy away from weeknights since it's hard for me to get anywhere but this will perfect for anyone who works or lives near Cool Springs (or anyone willing to head South).

I have been here a couple times and it never disappoints. The sushi is pretty good too, but the Thai even better. I'm really picky and judgmental when it comes to Thai since it's my favorite but Basil gets two thumbs up from me.

Heads up if you paid with a debit/credit card last night: One member called to inform me she was double charged last night. I just checked online and was charged correctly but wanted to make everyone aware.

I had such a challenging day. By the time I sat down with everyone for just a few minutes, the day just melted away. It was a great night! Thank you Rose.

So happy you made it! I had doubts until you walked through the door. I know you've been crazy busy and glad you could make time for us.

I'm happy you enjoyed. We shall return. For a large group, I thought the service and food were pretty dang good. I really want to use another word besides "dang" but it's a public forum.

I am here. We have the entire section but can't get everyone at one table. So maybe 10 & 7

Last chance to update your RSVP: Don't be a no-show! Since this leaves the restaurant and the rest of members waiting before they can order. I do mark people when they no-show. Repeat offenders are not at the top of my list when they are wait listed to be bumped on future events.

Not trying to be harsh - just realistic. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

No shows are the bane of my Meetups. Last night, I originally had 23 people sign up for my hike, 10+ cancelled relatively last minute, 5 no shows, leaving 6 people actually showing (including me). I'm glad you're still hosting all these events, Rose, but no shows makes me want to never host another Meetup.

BTW, I had lunch here today and the "panang curry" is delicious. I also loved their fried spring rolls. My coworker loved her "pad kee mao" that I suggested. She said it was "caliente", I think she meant temperature hot, not too spicy. In fact, my dinner tonight - leftover "panang curry". Yes, I can eat Thai food for days in a row.

Here's the plan...I hope this doesn't backfire on me. I'm adding all the wait listers and closing the RSVPs. So a table for 12 and maybe a table for 8-10. If you can't attend, please update so I can track the count and adjust accordingly.

Reservations made for Tuesday for 12 people, separate checks. Ten people still waiting. If you can't attend, please update your RSVP. Plan is to start a 2nd table. I would love for everyone to sit together. Marlee is hell bent on coming. So if Jim, Vivek or Rochelle are still in, one of them can host a 2nd smaller table (maybe 6-8, depending on how things end up).

Please don't make me sit alone!!!! I have been here many times...it's great.

Marlee, come on! Worst case you, Vivek and Rochelle can start another table. They are good friends of mine. You will love them.
