Cooking 101: All Things Ethnic

From: Rose L.

For those of you who know me well, you know I love to cook. I watch Food Network, Bravo, The Cooking Channel and the ID Channel (but I digress) incessantly. I was wondering if there would be any interest in me putting out a once a week, ethnically oriented (of course), email with recipes?

If so, I would love to share some of my favorites and yours as well - Italian, African, Cuban, Thai, Indian, to name a few. I've been told my Cuban picadillo is pretty awesome. A Cuban friend tells me it's better than his and could rival any Cuban restaurant in Miami. Ok, so I added the "in Miami" part but we can all dream. I also have a "Chicken with Roasted Coriander in a Coconut Curry Sauce" (Indian) that's pretty awesome but time consuming and well worth the effort.

Rules for sharing recipes:

1. Credit will be given to whoever provides the recipes (incl. well known TV shows and Chefs). If you got your recipe from a cooking show, class, etc., let me know where and you both get credit for sharing.

2. For hard to find ingredients, please tell me where you purchase them.

3. The more simple, the better. I am a woman of few ingredients.

4. Tell me your favorite ethnic grogery store(s) to shop for ingredients and I will list them as well. While I love Publix, it's nice to give credit (and business) to the smaller grocers as well.

Email me your recipes, idea and other suggestions. Did I miss anything?

Rose, Organizer

p.s. I would love a good Massamun Curry or Pad Kee Mao recipe.
