Participatory Economics for a Just and Sustainable Abundance.

Alternative ways to issue money and regulate the money supply.

What we can learn from the Complementary Currency movement and from similar movements in American history.

This introductory talk will be followed by a Sociocratic conversation.

John G Root Jr. has been studying money, what it is, its history and how our current system creates this reality we find so problematic - all his life. In 1985 he was instrumental in creating the first Community Supported Agriculture project in the US; he is Senior Policy Analyst with Common Good Finance and a member of the Board of Directors of BerkShares, and a founder of the MA Public Banking Advocates.
