Brahma Vihara - Karuna (Compassion)
with Whispering Deer
Compassion is the capacity of the awakened heart to remain open in the presence of pain and suffering - our own and that of all beings. It is the movement (quivering) of the heart that wants to alleviate suffering. Can we let ourselves feel another’s pain without getting pulled into sorrow, self-righteousness, anger, or become gripped in the hold of despair or grief? Compassion is the opening of consciousness to human life and the ability to stay close in the face of suffering without fear without aversion. Come and join us in learning how to live in a free and open-hearted way.
Donation welcome.
About Whispering Deer
Meditation is my primary spiritual practice. Each year, I spend 8 weeks in silence, working with various meditation techniques, accessing deep states of consciousness and expanded awareness. This work has led me to experience the transformative power of the awakened heart, resulting in the development of the Brahma Vihara workshops. The benefits I have received are innumerable and immeasurable. Nothing would please me more than to share what I have learned with others.
