Edit-a-Thon at the Library of Congress - Africa Collection Editathon

This joint effort of the Library of Congress African and Middle East Reading Room ( http://www.loc.gov/rr/amed/ ) and Wikimedia DC ( http://wikimediadc.org/wiki/Home ) welcomes participants to an edit-a-thon about Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa. Activities include new editor orientation and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Library of Congress. Coffee and cookies generously provided courtesy on Wikimedia DC.
Requirements
Due to limited space, prior reservations required; the event is limited to 20-25 attendees.

Bring your laptop (with a power cord) and identification.
Schedule of Events
On April 11, 2014, check in at the Madison Building Information Desk at 9 AM. Get a Library of Congress Reader card, which the LOC will take a photograph of you and place on a fancy personalized identification card.
After check in at 9 AM, the edit-a-thon will be in the African and Middle Eastern Reading Room (http://www.loc.gov/rr/amed/), Jefferson Building, at 10 AM.
After the event, we will go to the Madison Cafe for a late lunch.
Those who wish to continue their explorations of the Library of Congress after lunch are welcome to use their new Library of Congress Reader's Card to expand Wikipedia with the innumerable reliable sources onsite.
