Hummingbird Trail Loop

Details
Welcome to the monthly community outreach Meetup hike sponsored by the women's hiking club Wild Women Hiking (http://www.wildwomenhiking.com/) - http://www.wildwomenhiking.com .
"Explore the otherworldly rock formations that adorn the hillsides below Rocky Peak with this engaging yet challenging hike. Gaining 1,000 feet of elevation in just over 2 miles the difficulty is overshadowed by the geological wonders you will be eager to investigate along the way."

http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/7/0/8/c/600_417028812.jpeg We will make the challenging ascent to Rocky Peak then meander our way downhill from there. We will pass under the 118 Fwy through the Wildlife Corridor into Corriganville Park.

If you haven't visited Corriganville Park before, save a little time after our hike to visit. It was the practical location for many western movies as well as TV shows such as Tarzan and Robin Hood. Informational kiosks throughout the park feature photo stills of the landscape as used in various film productions. It is a fun and easy walking tour and more than worth the price of admission which is 100% free!
Passing out of Corriganville Park we do a wee bit of road walking to get back to our cars.
Yes, the 1,000 ft elevation gain sounds intimidating, but we can stop often to enjoy the caves. You can do it! The weather forecasts 81 degree high for the day in Simi Valley so it should be a comfortable temperature throughout our hike.
Most of this trail is exposed so be prepared with proper sun protection and lots of water (2 liters is recommended)
This Meetup is an opportunity for you to meet Wild Women Hiking's Adventure Guide and learn more about membership in the official (non-Meetup) Wild Women Hiking club (http://www.wildwomenhiking.com).
