Spring is almost here in the Willamette Valley. With that, comes the anticipation to get back on the bike, as well as hit the drier trails. We have several new event organizers that have been added over the last few months. I hope that will add to providing more events for members to enjoy. As always, I appreciate suggestions and would love to hear from members of where they would like to go this spring, as well as this summer.
So, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to add them to the forum provided at the link: http://www.meetup.com/Willamette-Valley-Outdoors/messages/boards/thread/16001092. You can also send me suggestions at my email address, or contact me by phone. Email is the best option, as it allows me to see it in writing, and get the ball moving on setting the trip up.
Some ideas I have, and have been adding to the calendar little by little. One is having an event every Thursday evening. Currently those events are set for 5:30PM. I will look to having them at 7:00PM later into the summer. The idea of Thursday evenings is to provide a weekday event, such as biking, walking, or a short hike. Various ideas include hiking Spencer Butte, Mount Pisgah, Ridgeline, and Wild Iris Ridge. Bike riding along the river and the wetlands, or simply get in a walk somewhere in town.
If you are interested in becoming an event organizer, please contact me. I'm seeking a few more to help with events.
