What we’re about

We'd like to welcome you to our FREE regular talks and workshops which take place across London throughout the year. Many are scheduled well in advance with other ad-hoc events added whenever venue dates & event become clear.

The Blake Society is a community inspired group which sets out to honour and celebrate one of England's most well known, yet perhaps least understood creative genius.

William Blake (1757-1827), was many things, engraver, poet, painter & prophet.

Perhaps ahead of his time, scholars and amateur enthusiasts are continually drawn to the often mystical and prophetic works that populate galleries and bookstores across the planet.

Here in London, we are a community of interested souls. We are a serious but not a stuffy group. There is always plenty of time to mingle & get to know one another at our events.

The Society brings together scholars and enthusiasts, amateurs and professionals on equal terms to share our interest in Blake and his message to eternity.

We have been meeting regularly in London since 1985, with monthly speakers including scholars, artists, writers, radicals and mystics.

We hope that you will enjoy exploring these Meet Up pages, which contain information about our activities, including our current projects and events programme, and information about Blake himself.

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our many events this year.

Our normal venue is at the Meeting Room at St. James’ Piccadilly, but some events take place in other locations, mainly in and around London, sometimes further afield.

We look forward to seeing you and hope you enjoy these Meet Up events.
