Hi,

we're organizing a Hackathon to program together Windows 8 apps. Microsoft experts will be there to give you support if you have questions about Windows 8. The aim is to meet new people, learn about Windows 8 and program superawesome apps. You don't need to have an App ready - we'll program it together. All you need are either HTML5/JS-skills or .NET/C#/Silverlight/XAML-skills.

Program:

  • 18:30 - 19:30 Arriving, Networking, Team-Building, etc.

  • 19:30 - 20:00 Short introduction and information about app building for Windows 8.

  • 20:00 - 06:00 Hackathon!

  • 06:00 Final Presentation and Breakfast (tbc)

Necessary knowledge:

  • Either HTML5/JS background or .NET/Silverlight/XAML/C#-knowledge

Aim:

  • Build Apps for Windows 8 -> in teams or on your own with support (you choose)

  • Learn about Windows 8

  • Meet interesting people

Important Update:

Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 are necessary for developing Windows 8 apps. You can install it on a virtual machine: Just download Virtual PC ( http://www.microsoft.com/germany/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx ) and install Windows 8 RP and Visual Studio 2012. We will also provide the tools on USB-sticks.
