An Introduction to the Perl Data Language (PDL)
public group

Details
Perl is well known for its fast string processing, but a number of
distributions extend Perl into the domain of high performance and
scientific computing. These include the Bio::* modules, the MPI
bindings, the nascent CUDA::Minimal, and the Perl Data Language, or PDL. PDL is a collection of modules that "gives standard Perl the
ability to compactly store and speedily manipulate the large
N-dimensional data arrays which are the bread and butter of scientific computing." In his talk, David will give an introduction to PDL for all manner of numerical computing and data visualization with Perl.
