Napa Valley Flea Jumpers

  • This location is shown only to members

Unless you hear otherwise, the Napa Valley Flea Jumpers meets on the last Sunday of each month at Gordon Huether's Hay Barn on Montecello Road in Napa.

'Ukulele players of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to come join us. We play music of all genres and may try to follow a specific theme from month to month. We encourage you to bring a song to share.

We gather at 5pm and may start with a lesson or focus on a specific skill set or song.....or not. Specific details for each meeting may vary from month to month and will be outlined in the comments for that meeting so please check this site the night before so you can come prepared. The one thing you can always count on is pupus and wine. We're usually done by 8:00 pm but reserve the right to carry on if we're on a roll.

Oh, forgot to mention: we will be using the same format we used last month. The first hour will be devoted to breaking into small groups (aka bands), and learning one song well enough to perform it for the other groups. So please arrive on time and be ready to go at 5. The really big show will be after pupus at 6......followed by our regular Kani Ka Pila.

OK. So last month we played homage to the rain gods and got a few sprinkles....enough, anyway to get a brilliant display of wildflowers. ,So, you guessed it, this month's theme will be songs about flowers. Now don't make Glenna and Jeff do all the work (or have all the fun), dig deep, search far and wide, and come up with your one favorite song either about flowers, people named after flowers, trees, plants, you get the idea.....and bring enough copies to share (12 seems to be a good number). I'm really counting on the Hawaiian crew (aka the "Chatty Cathys") to bring in something fabulous to share...and perhaps a hula to go with it. And, in the spirit of the season, let's bring pupus made from fresh, local ingredients that are good for us!.....See you on Sunday at the Hay Barn in Napa.
