2014/15 Preview & Home Automation Gateway

You won't want to miss this meetup if you're interested in Home Automation. This is the first meetup of the year so we'll preview what we have planned for the first half of the year.

Then we're going to dig right in and set up a Raspberry Pi gateway that we'll integrate future Home Automation projects with as the year goes on. The gateway will serve as the central controller for our intelligent automated home. We'll install an MQTT broker on our gateway which will be the communication protocol that we'll be utilizing. Finally if you have your temperature and light sensor project from last year we'll update that project to publish it's readings back to the gateway.

What to bring:

• Raspberry Pi (Configured and ready to go, ie. os installed) - this will be your gateway server

• Temperature and Light sensor project if you have one.

• Keyboard

• Mouse

• Monitor

• Powerbar
