Mobile Application Development
Details
Now that we have a Home Automation Gateway and some connected devices we are going to create a mobile application to interact with our devices.
You do not need to be an expert programmer, a little knowledge of html and javascript would be helpful.
Features of the app:
• Publish device configuration data and/or commands to MQTT topics that our devices are listening to.
• Subscribe to MQTT topics that our devices are publishing to. Giving us the current status of the device, current readings (if any), and the current configuration.
What to bring:
If you're intending on following along you'll need a laptop running Windows, Mac OS or Linux. Make sure you have the Java Runtime Environment 1.7 or later installed. The app that we are going to build is cross-platform, so bring your Android, iOS or Windows Phone device(s).
We will also need Sencha Touch. Installation instructions will be provided.
