News:

Don't Forget to VOTE TOMORROW! If you'd like to see what's on the ballot in Illinois, check this handy site out!

XX Hack  - we are having fun building a usable website for local boyscouts, if you'd like to learn while helping the community, stop by hack nights on Thursdays! Of course, you don't have to help with our project to come to hack nights, this is a time for us to hang out, laugh, support one another, and help each other with coding in a totally awesome, women only environment. See you Thursday!

Nice resource for those looking to find online coding classes: 27 ways to learn online   If you find an online class you'd like to take let us know, chances are one of our 500ish members wants to take it too and would love a study buddy to keep her accountable. (I'm interested in taking the algorythm class offered by Udasity.com, if you'd like to study it with me maybe we could buddy up on Thursday nights during xxhack.)

Upcoming Classes:

Python: November 12th: There are only two spots left in this 4 week class. Register today!

PostgreSQL: January 7th, 2013: Behind every great website there is a database - learn about it!

HTML5 and CSS3: February 4th, 2013

Ruby: March 4th, 2013

Notes:

Teachers - Do you think you are proficient enough to teach a one day or 4 week class to other CWDev members? Yes? email us at [address removed] and let us know what you'd like to teach! Conversely, if you'd like to learn a certain programming language email us and let us know, we'll do our best to pull together a class and locate stellar teachers!

Interns: We're looking for someone who can dedicate a few hours of her time a week to writing up these newsletters and doing the social media. Is it you? We'll gladly trade free classes for the right candidate. Send us an email. [address removed]

Arduino: We're working hard to get together and bend circuits and whatnot! Are you interested in manipulating circuit boards with your hands and making things blink, blip, and whirr? We're picking a date, sign up to be notified!

See you this Thursday,

Melissa
