Join us for an Intro to Android coding workshop led by Android Developer Kelly Shuster!

Come learn about Android, an immensely popular operating system that currently has over 80% of world smartphone market share. We will discuss basic design patterns of Android development, walk through Android Studio, and code a simple app together. We’ll also chat about the Android community, the challenges of developing in the Android eco-system, and the latest tidbits from Google I/O.

This meetup is beginner level. No Android experience is required for this meetup. Some coding experience is preferred, but not required.

To get the most out of this workshop, please bring your laptop with Android Studio installed. Instructions for installing can be found here:

Kelly Shuster

Kelly Shuster is an Android developer at iTriage in Denver where she also leads the accessibility directive on Android, iOS and Web. Prior to mobile development, she worked as an Embedded Firmware Engineer in the disk drive industry, flipping bits for read channel optimization. Kelly holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering with minors in Computer Science and Political Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She enjoys sharing her technical knowledge by speaking anywhere she can, from local tech meetups to international conferences, most recently at Droidcon Berlin.
