Denver: IoT Hardware and Mobile Projects w/ Vui Nguyen

A long time software developer (15+ years), and long time WWC member (for not as long ;)), Vui Nguyen was bit by the "IoT bug" this year. As a result, Vui has been active in several IoT projects and hackathons throughout the year, starting with the Women's Hardware Hackathon sponsored by WWC this past February, and she came home this past August after becoming a finalist in the China-US Young Maker Competition in Beijing, China.

Always looking for solutions to existing problems, Vui built a full-stack IoT system to control an Intel Edison board using a website and and iOS mobile app, because such a solution did not exist before. As a result of her work with Intel hardware and technologies, she recently became an Intel Software Innovator as well.

For this month's presentation, Vui will talk about her IoT project and how her team did in Beijing, China and give a demo of her IoT-iOS system. Depending on interest and time, she may also go over some code! (gasp) She looks forward to sharing her IoT experiences with WWC as a way of giving back for introducing her to the world of IoT with the Women's Hardware Hackathon this year.

Parking Suggestions

A block or so north on that same side of the road is a lot that allows cheaper parking after 6pm (I think either $2 or $4 for the evening). Before 6pm it is employee parking.

There is also street parking in the Highland neighborhood across the bridge or at the nearby park. There are plenty of 2 hour street parking, but there should also be spots for longer than that if you can find them.
