EIT ICT Labs (http://www.eitictlabs.eu/) is a leading European digital innovation and education organization with a mission to foster innovative technology and entrepreneurial talent for economic growth and quality of life in Europe.

They are holding an Idea Challenge on 8 topics across 8 cities and this Monday, April 27, Women Who Code organised an event so representatives from EIT ICT Labs can talk about the Idea Challenge and also take questions from those who might want to understand the rules and might want to participate.

This event will be held at Twitter HQ London. There is no need to bring a laptop.

The EIT ICT Labs Idea Challenge ( http://ideachallenge.eitictlabs.eu/ ) is EIT ICT Labs’ contest to reach out, identify and support the best digital startups in Europe, that are focused on fast growth of their business in Europe and worldwide.

The challenge focuses on 8 Innovation Action Lines, that cover digital trends in areas strategic for Europe:

• Smart Spaces
• Cyber-Physical Systems
• Future Cloud
• Cyber Security and Privacy
• Internet of Things
• Urban Life and Mobility
• Smart Energy Systems

The prizes in store are -
1st Prize: 40,000 €
2nd Prize: 25,000 €
3rd Prize: 15,000 €

The goal is to find the 24 most innovative European startups in these fields and to help them succeed in world markets and become European success stories.
