iOS Build-an-App Workshop

Details

Welcome to the weekly iOS Build-an-App Workshop

Format:

You will pair program with other attendees and build an app! You'll move at your own pace and will be able to get your hands dirty with an app from initial design to full implementation. Mentors will be floating around to answer any and all questions so you can leave with a super cool app!

Schedule:

6:30 - 7:00 Mingle/Dinner

7:00 - 7:15 Lightning Talk

7:15 - 9:00 Pair Programming

What to do beforehand?

If this is your first time working with Objective-C and Xcode, please take a look at the Learning iOS Resources (https://sites.google.com/site/iosstudygroup/learning-ios-resources) page on our Wiki. If you don't get a chance to look at this prior to the workshop, don't worry! You can always consult these resources as needed during the workshop (you'll move at your own pace so you can't be left behind).

We also have a Google Group if you're interested in staying connected off Meetup: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!forum/ios-study-group

You will need a Mac computer running OSX 10.7 or later, with Xcode 4.5 or later. Please install Xcode from the Mac App Store before you arrive! It is a very large program and will take some time to download.

Don't have a Mac? Don't worry! We'll be pair programming, so we can pair you with someone who has one.

As with all Women Who Code events, this event is open only to those who identify as a woman. Women Who Code is emphatically trans- and queer-friendly.
