Python Study Series Kickoff: Talk with Guido van Rossum

Details
Python Study Series
Join me in learning Python, an awesome, dynamic, and versatile language created by our kickoff speaker, Guido van Rossum!
About the series:
I will host 7-8 sessions weekly on Wednesdays to plow through Python through loosely guided "lessons" and implementing our new knowledge through personal or professional projects. The goal is for the group to collectively fumble and learn different uses of Python.
According to the December 2011 TIOBE index, it is more popular than Javascript, Perl, and Ruby. As a testimate to its popularity, many companies use Python for development (i.e. Dropbox, Mozilla, Yelp, YouTube, etc) and as a supplemental language (i.e. Google, Justin.tv, Second Life). Many established and start up firms hire those with Python knowledge of varying degrees, simply because of its versatility.
Who should attend this series? Any woman with an interest in learning Python. This event is ONLY open to people who identify as women. Emphatically queer and trans friendly.
Have project ideas? Bring them along!
Want to come to just one or two meetups? Sure!
Just interested in meeting Guido? Come on down.

Note: Dropbox is graciously sponsoring the whole series by providing us with a meetup space, AV equipment to borrow, and noms for dinner (h*ll yeah, thank you Dropbox!). Because their team is growing, they will be relocating during the week of February 13th - 17th. This means two things:
There will be no Python study series meetup on Wednesday, February 15th. The location of the study series meet up will change to the new Dropbox Location at 185 Berry St, 4th floor, very close to the Caltrain.
