Javascript 101 - Session 1 of 4: Intro to JavaScript

Javascript is one of the most in-demand skills in the tech industry and widely considered as the programming language of the Web.

This JavaScript 101 4-workshop series is designed to give those new to JavaScript a broad understanding of fundamental concepts of the language. This is not a lecture based class. Though there will be a short lecture of new JavaScript concepts, the design of this workshop is for you to practice coding, while learning - there will be a lot of self-guided reading, exercises, and learnings so prepare to be engaged! We will be working through the Codeacademy JavaScript (https://www.codecademy.com/learn/javascript)course.

Session 1 --
Introduction to JavaScript: Primitive Data Types, Expressions, Operators, and Functions (Codeacademy Units 1 and 2)
6.30 - 8.30 pm : new material and practice
8.30 - 9pm: Extra hacking time if you want to stay back for that

Logistics--

Location: Intel Folsom, 1900 Prairie City Road, Folsom, CA - Building FM7 Room 110

Parking: Parking is available in the parking lot in front of the building.

Arrivals: Please arrive 15-30 minutes earlier to get checked in at security and set up lap top. We aim to start the workshop promptly at 6:30pm.

Other: Pizza and refreshments will be served in the beginning.
