The GoBridge initiative:

I've been working with Bill Kennedy (@goinggodotnet) of Ardan Labs to launch GoBridge as an addition to the family of technical workshops that are a part of Bridge Foundry. Bridge Foundry is dedicated to building bridges that educate and empower underserved communities to teach technical skills and foster diversity in tech. To learn more about Bridge Foundry please check out their website, http://bridgefoundry.org (http://bridgefoundry.org/).

This workshop:

To kick off GoBridge, we will be offering an Ardan Labs Hardcore Go workshop for FREE August 29th and 30th at Sagan Systems in San Francisco. This class provides an intensive, comprehensive and idiomatic view of the language. The class will focus on both the specification and implementation of the language, including topics ranging from language syntax, Go’s type system, concurrency, channels and more. For details, see the Hardcore Go repo, https://github.com/ArdanStudios/gotraining .

This class is for you if:

  • you identify as a woman

  • you are an intermediate-level developer

  • you have some experience with other programming languages

  • you want to learn Go, or you want a more thorough understanding of the language and its internals

About our sponsor, Sagan Systems:

Sagan was founded in 2014 by a set of serial entrepreneurs to build a Saas solution tackling a very large market: helping companies better support and communicate with consumers across multiple communication channels. Our system is built primarily in Go, Node/React and a real-time pubsub microservices architecture, deployed with Docker and AWS.
