DESCRIPTION:
Please bring your computer to this event. This monthly meetup covers algorithms. Attendees will divide into one of two main groups:
Algorithm skills
Developers (those who are fairly comfortable with coding and problem-solving in groups): You'll solve algorithms in small groups of others who use your language of choice! We've had JavaScript, Ruby, C++, and many other groups in the past.
Study Group
Non-experienced coders: we'll work on getting resources and pair-programming on beginner-type Algorithms. We'll present an entry-level problem and work together to solve it. Let us know what you would like to learn/get out of this event!
Schedule
6:30 Arrive/Network/Food!
7:00 Welcome from Women Who Code & Betterment
7:15 Intro to solving algorithm-type questions by Sarah Muenzinger (@sarahmunzi)
7:30 Attendees form groups and will solve 1 of 3 new presented problems.
8:30 Optional review (solutions will be posted on the WWCNYC Github: https://github.com/WomenWhoCodeNYC/Algorithms/tree/master/July-16-2015 )
9:30 Meetup ends
• Do you have experience interviewing software engineers? Do you have ideas on how to improve Algorithms as an event? We'd love for you to join us!
