The Women's BookClub is accepting new members who will be regularly active and reasonably committed to the group.
Although there are exceptions, the general age range is 30-40 something. This diverse group is comprised of women from varying walks of life and includes married & singles.
Genres will include fiction, chic lit, mysteries & classics, excluding romance & horror. Regularly scheduled meetings are usually held in the Milford area on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Supplemental meeting dates vary.
Membership dues are very reasonable @ $1 per month. Dues will be used to help cover the $144 annual meetup subscription fee as well as other incidentals such as sending cards, flowers & fruit baskets to members when the occasion warrants.
Prior to applying for membership please review the following membership guidelines. By joining, members agree to abide by the membership guidelines.
MEMBER PROFILE
• Completely answer all profile questions with meaningful and sincere answers. Membership requests may be declined due to incomplete information.
• Upload a REAL photo of yourself, one that will help us recognize you.
PARTICIPATION
• Log into the site at least once per month (unless other arrangements are made in advance) and periodically attend meetups.
CONFIDENTIALITY
• All information shared by members and their guest(s) shall be held in the strictest of confidence. Information shall not be shared outside the group and unless permission is otherwise granted.
RSVP GUIDELINES
• “RSVP” stands for Répondez S'il Vous Plaît (Respond Please). Only RSVP "YES" if you are certain you will attend.
• It is understood that unexpected things happen. If your plans change after you have RSVP’d for an event, kindly return to the site and update your RSVP as soon as possible, preferably 48 hours in advance. Emailing the organizer does not constitute an updated RSVP.
• Members who RSVP "yes" for fee-based events are financially responsible. Changing a "yes" RSVP to "no" after reservations have been made does not relieve members of financial responsibility. Members unable to attend may opt to secure a suitable substitute attendee within the confines of the event parameters.
NO-SHOW POLICY
• NO-SHOWS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, PERIOD. A 'no-show' is RSVPing 'yes' and then not showing up. Naturally, true emergencies are excluded.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY
• Members, who after agreeing to lead an event determine they are unable to attend are responsible for securing a suitable replacement. Informing the organizer(s) of inability to attend does not meet the requirements explained herein.
BEHAVIOR CODE
• Bossiness, gossip, cliques and catty behavior are just plain annoying, and to be frank, inappropriate…so you won't do it, right?
DUES
• Annual membership dues of $1 per month shall be paid by all members. New members may attend their first Meetup fee-free.
AND FINALLY...
• Unless otherwise stated on individual event listings, events are open to members and their adult female guests within the confines of posted attendance limits. Please indicate number of guests when RSVPing. Co-ed Events are clearly indicated as such.
• Inactive or otherwise absent members are periodically removed from the group and are encouraged to re-apply for membership when able to actively participate.
• The organizer reserves the right to remove any member who does not follow the Membership Guidelines. Members who abuse or neglect the RSVP system outlined herein or are reported to have abused, disrespected, harassed and/or spammed other member(s) shall be removed from the group.
• If you are uncomfortable with any portion of the Membership Guidelines please do not join.
