Okay Geeks, the next WordPress Orlando Roundtable MeetUp is on  AGAIN!.

Once again, due to demand, we have secured an even larger space on a Saturday morning, in a new downtown Orlando location, IDEAS, at 64 E Concord St, 32801 (between the Orlando Sentinel building, and the Courthouse).

  • 9.30 AM Introduction / Housekeeping Items
  • 9.45 AM How safe is your WordPress Install

Thomas - will be giving a presentation on how to securely backup your wordpress site, in case anything does happen (and it will eventually!) The presentation will cover backing up your site via ftp, dropbox, and amazon S3.

  • 10.30 AM Break – Business Exchange
  • 10.15 AM WordPress SEO / Find that site

Allison - presentation will cover the basics of search engine optimization and how to apply these methods to your WordPress site using plug-ins.

  • 11.30 Break – Business Card Exchange

Ideas has 25 spots in the back of the building, another parking lot with 50 spots for overflow, and another lot across from the parking garage for the courthouse.

Note: As a WordPress group we believe in an open source exchange of ideas while supporting our local community.

Read our group guide – i.e. no sales pitch at meetings (unless you sponsor), we meet when we say, are always professional and courteous and no shows get removed from the group. This is totally free and we thank Ideas for the space.

P.S. If you know a lot about WordPress don't just sit there - become a speaker! Email me.

Loved it. A great intro to, and gathering for, the Orlando WordPress community. Can't wait for the next one. Tom's WP security presentation was awesome. Allison's SEO/keywords overview was perfect.

This is a focus on protecting your WP site from getting hacked or hijacked which sooner or later will happen if you don't protect your site.

Hi, is there anywhere I can find more information about this event? Sounds very interesting but I'm not totally sure I understand what it's about (safety and WP identity theft type of security, or IT security against hackers, etc). Thanks!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
