Speaker: Eugene Granovsky, Front-End Developer.
Eugene has been working with the Bootstrap framework to produce custom theme templates that are mobile-first responsive. The presentation will describe some of his experiences with front-end development in WordPress, and how Bootstrap can be implemented in a couple of different ways. He will also discuss why he likes to use this approach for making WordPress sites that adapt to all different size screens.
As always, we will spend the first half hour networking and getting to know each other. After the presentation, we will open it up to Q&A, where you can ask questions directed to our speaker, or to the group in general.
If anyone would like to show some work they have done, we will be happy to give you some time to do that.
For those of you who have not been to the group before, here are some tips for finding us. The 1871 co-working space is on the 12th floor or the Merchandise Mart, near a big neon sign at the end of the hall. Once inside, look for the IMSA classroom, down the hall to the right. The front desk is staffed until 6:00pm, and it is helpful to arrive before they leave and lock up. They often stay past 6:00, but If you find yourself locked out, please call[masked] and one of us will let you in.
Parking is best achieved by finding one of the local garages near the Mart. There are CTA trains that come directly to the building as well, which is a good option. If you know anyone who might benefit from sponsoring the group with a food budget, we would be thrilled to speak to them.
