BuddyPress 2.0

BuddyPress 2.0 is the latest and greatest version of the popular WordPress social networking plugin. BuddyPress Lead Developer Boone Gorges will show off cool new features in BP 2.0, including new community administration tools, enhancements to the flexibility of the activity stream, and massive performance improvements.

Many people associate WordPress with being just a blogging platform and/or a content management system but WordPress is powerful enough and flexible enough to run any type of web application and even mobile applications. In this session, you will be introduced to AppPresser, a plugin that allows you to build hybrid mobile applications with WordPress without spending an arm and a leg.

The experts from will be available throughout the evening to help you with your WordPress issues and answer your questions.

We will raffle off $1 for each user that RSVP's. This money will be split between:

Hey everybody! Great meet up and awesome speakers! I wanted to point you to the site that Boone mentioned in his talk, for an example of Buddypress using Events Manager to allow members to program our calendar and sell tickets. We're in beta right now and things are going great! If you are local and want to get involved in the project, please register and get in touch, [masked]. Nice to meet you all!

    Hello All,
Yesterday was my first meet and I can confidently say it wont be my last! It was so well organized, the presentations were great and the vibe was collectively creative. Steve is a great host and managed the proceedings like a true professional.
That and a slice of pizza. Whats not to like!!!
My compliments and I look forward to future meets.

Sorry I messed the meetup last night. My mom is here visiting and going back today (I'd completely spaced on that when I signed up). I've got a site on that I want to convert to BuddyPress and host myself so this one was really intresting to me. I'll look forward to seeing the video when you post it.

We have very limited space, and building security needs a list, so RSVP's are closed. We'll look forward to seeing you next month!
