Announcing a new Meetup for DFW Words & Wine!

What: The Geography of Bliss: One Grump's Search for the happiest places in the world

When: Thursday, September 30,[masked]:45 PM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Well lot's of changes and lot's of new discoveries to make and I hope you will join me.

Let's begin with this book:

The Geography of Bliss: One Grump's Search for the Happiest Places in the World by Eric Weiner

A former NPR foreign correspondent now turned author takes us on a journey filled with humor and insight of what the world has to offer. I just ordered the book and for those who don't know me, it is no guarantee I will love the book or even finish reading it. I like the subject and know this will generate a great deal of various discussions certain to be entertaining.

So to answer a few questions:
1. No you don't have to have read the book to come to the discussion. My thoughts on this is that one may learn about the book and find you may be interested in experiencing the reading journey later. No Biggie!
2. I try to accommodate especially those who are very interested in being a part of the group. Gotta question shoot it over (however due to my extraordinarly busy schedule I am slow to respond)
3. Location, location, location - I HAVE MOVED SO HAVE THE MEETINGS I HOLD - Hope you guys like Addison!

I just bought (2) other books for the group and hope to get them read in the next few weeks and post them for October and November.
One is brand new on the market and the other is available in paperback:
Skippy Dies by Paul Murray (Available now through Amazon) it was just picked up to turn into a movie....Oooh won't we be in the know?!
Room: A Novel by Emma Donoghue (Longlist on Man Booker Prize 2010) written in the voice of a 5 year old. Read the synopsis I think you will find it intriguing.

So I am still scouting out new places in Addison and am open to some recommendations. Just remember my qualifiers are has to have ample room for a large group, quiet enough to be able to have a discussion and serve wine or any other spirits. I believe Blackfinn will be an option as we have visited there before and had a private room and discounted drinks. I liked having our own bar!

I really look forward to getting back into the swing of things and making some new friends......those who know me can attest 'I DON'T KNOW A STRANGER'.

Cheers!
Tiffany
