This month's choice is inspired by the release of Baz Luhrman's nterpretation of The Great Gatsby. It presents the perfect opportunity to read F. Scott Fitzgerald's Great American Novel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_American_Novel). The Modern Library named this book, set in 1922, the second best English language (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_language) novel of the 20th century, capturing the essence of an era.

The movie is released on May 17th, which doesn't leave us much time to see the film. But hopefully you'll be able to find some time over the weekend before we meet on May 20th.

You can buy the book on Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/185326041X), or at your local book shop.
